Good morning, dear Fathers, Sisters, Principals, Coordinators, and Friends.
Today is indeed a day to celebrate. For today we mark a milestone in our common apostolate of educating our Filipino youth.
For the past 50 years, REX Book Store has been your partner. We served your needs through the books and educational materials we produced for you. We cannot thank you enough for your continued faith in us.
In the recent past, however, against the backdrop on cynicism in our society, corruption in all nooks and concern in our national life, the deterioration of our morals, we – school administration and publishers – were forced to ask: ‘’ What have we been doing all along? Where did we fail?’’ These are no easy question to ask.
Hence, we at REX had to revisit our goals. We reflected deeply on our fundamental objectives and refocused our vision. And so today, we talk boldly of Transformative Education. This is our dream. This is our direction. This is our drive.
This morning, here in Sta. Rosa, we go one step further. We are launching a series of symposia, in cooperation with Catechetical Media Network-Asia, to bring this dream closer to reality. We will have Msgr. SabinoVengco, Jr. and Mr. Rene Carvajal as our first resource speakers. And this afternoon, we too will officially launch 3 youth oriented religious journals – our way of winning, the minds and hearts of our youth through alternative print media, and bring them closer to Christ.
Thank you, dear friends, for being here today to celebrate and mark this milestone with us. Thank you for your unfailing commitment to the future of our youth.
On behalf of the men and women of REX Book Store and CMN-Asia, WELCOME AND MAY YOU HAVE A PLEASANT DAY
