Ladies and Gentlemen
Tonight is a special gathering of Bedans to: a) celebrate the academic year that is about to pass and welcome the future with much hope and anticipation.
We, in the San Beda College Alumni Association, have much to be thankful for as we bring to a close another fruitful year. Thus we thought of having this simple gathering as our way of expressing gratitude to the many individuals who made Academic Year 2006-2007 another banner year for the San Beda College Alumni Association. We express collectively our gratitude to fellow Bedan Manny Pangilinan who has supported us in our many programs and projects in the Alumni Association, especially the Red and White Ball and of course, our bringing home the NCAA basketball championship trophy after 28 long years of waiting.
Tonight, we also express our collegial gratitude to Rev. Anscar Chupungco, who we understand will be ending his six fruitful years as Rector-President of San Beda College Mendiola. We know Father, that you do not want any tribute or testimonials to be given as you leave your office, but the SBC Alumni Board is insistent that this special dinner be tendered as our way of thanking you for all that you have been to us in the Alumni Association. Thank you for gracing tonight’s affair. Father Rector. Not to be forgotten of course is our dynamic President of the SBCAA Dr. Conrado F. Oca, who will also be honored tonight for he has done much in keeping the Bedan spirit alive by his able leadership of the SBC Alumni Association.
As we look back and thank everyone who made the SBCAA the Association that it is today, we also welcome the future with much hope that like our predecessors, we will be able to bring the SBC Alumni Association and Foundation to even greater heights. As our Board Officers, directors and trustees take our oath of office tonight, we also renew our ties and unwavering commitment to San Beda College and promise to be of better service to our alma mater.
Let tonight’s gathering be another event worth remembering for its camaraderie and fellowship, and more importantly, let this event be another testimony of the greatness of the Bedan spirit breathing in each and every one of us.
