WELCOME REMARKS

A pleasant afternoon to all of you. Thank you for making yourselves available today, to celebrate another milestone in Rex Book Store. It gives me great joy to be opening another book store, this time in Ortigas.
As you may have noticed from our other branches, every book store has its own unique personality. And so also this branch in Ortigas is unique, in that it stands in the middle of one of the busiest business districts, in a building bustling with barristers and that it is just across the street from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. I have no doubt that this book store branch will be one of the law practitioners’ favorite destinations here in Ortigas.
In putting up this book store branch, we have benefited from the collective experience and collaborative efforts of the different functions.
In line with this, I would like to acknowledge the various heads and their teams:
First of all, my sincerest gratitude goes to Mr. Robert Briz, the Head of Retail Operations, who discovered and recommended this location from an evaluation of all available office spaces in Shaw and Ortigas. I would also like to commend Ms. Alma Viernes, who spearheaded preparations for Ortigas branch, even as she continues to manage our flagship branch in Recto. Robert and Alma are very ably assisted by the rest of the Ortigas branch team—Emma Idio who is OIC for Ortigas branch coming from her previous role as cashier of Recto; our Ortigas sales clerks, Rachel and Kimberly; and stock clerks Henry and Edward..
I also want to take this opportunity to thank Architect Jay Troncales and Mr. Eugene Bustamante of J & J Properties, who, along with Robert, oversaw the establishment of this branch, from design to production.
I would also like to thank the Marketing team headed by Ms. Jeanne Marie Tordesillas, for the marketing collaterals and shelf planograms that they have put in place in the different branches including this one.
Thanks also to the Institutional Sales team led by Mr. Rico Lavalle, in devising programs to promote our law books especially to the law firms here in Ortigas as well as to nearby law schools.
I would also like to thank Mr. Sam Baltazar and the rest of the Publishing team which he heads, for making sure that our books are developed by our country’s best legal luminaries.
Let us also acknowledge the efforts of Ms. Breezy Santiago, GM of Rex Book Store International, in promoting our Tertiary titles introducing our titles to other markets around the world.
Thanks also to Ms. Liza Cruz, GM of Printing and Logistics, in seeing to the printing and proper allocation of books to the branches.
And last but not the least, we would like to acknowledge the contribution of our Corporate Finance and Administration Group headed by Mr. Sunday Fontelera and the Corporate Services group led by Ms. Mavic Ulaye in recording and monitoring our sales.
Together, let us pray for the success of this Ortigas branch. Maraming salamat po.
