MESSAGE OF THE CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT
ON THE 62nd FOUNDATION DAY
OF REX BOOKSTORE, INC.

Greetings…
Today is indeed a red-calendar day for us. Firstly, because we are celebrating the 62nd Anniversary of REX Book Store, Inc. and secondly because we are celebrating the birthday of one of the key players in the Company – the COO.
Let us all thank the Lord Almighty for giving us the reason to have this double celebration.
While we are celebrating, let us not forget to thank also the ones who laid the foundation of the Company which we have now. Let us give a round of applause to Mr. Juanito “Manong” Fontelera and (Mrs.) Jovita “Manang” Fontelera.
If not for their tandem, we may not be where we are today. Let us always keep their memories alive by trying to emulate the values that they instilled in us during their earthly existence.
It may really be designed by the Divine Providence that our COO was born on the same day Rex Book Store was founded- January 24. After all, he would eventually play a pivotal role in leading the third generation in continuing the legacy started by Manong and Manang and nurtured by the second generation.
As we thank the Lord for 62 years of business existence, I would like to reiterate that we have to accomplish all our goals. To do that all of us must do our share of the task at hand. We will need all hands on deck if our Company is to survive. We’ve got to face the challenges.
Let us all be reminded that a good Company should be like a well-designed ship which has everything on board fastened and functioning to the best of its ability. It must navigate well to take advantage of the wind. Our company should be able to sail with the wind, with its crew knowing each one’s functions and duties.
Let us all think that any ship not taking full advantage of the winds will lag behind and even perish. We must act as facilitators to avoid this to happen to our Company.
As we sail along, let us aim our Company to continue to attract the best talents which will mean greater creativity and which will eventually mean good return on investment, expanded market share locally and globally and will then register increased sales and profit. Let us all make REX Book Store a happier company.
To complete today’s celebration, let us proceed to our sportsfest where several teams are expected to outdo each other in various sports activities. Good luck to all the teams. Let the spirit of camaraderie and unity prevail.
Again, congratulations to all of us on our 62nd year and Happy Birthday to our COO. May all the wishes and dreams you dream today turn to reality.
